Benefits
Body wraps and essential oils aid
detoxification and stimulate fat
metabolism.  A body wrap can soften
and hydrate the skin, while soothing
aches and pains.  Mud treatments
increase blood circulation, absorb
impurities from the skin, soften skin,
and improve surface moisturization.
Mud has been used for centuries for
therapeutic and beautification purposes
for skin softening, for metabolic
stimulation, and for simple relaxation.
Mud has a very high mineral content
and so can re-mineralize the skin.

There are 4 elements to a successful
body wrap:

  • Penetration works better when a
large area of the skin is treated.
  • Benefits of the wrap are better
    received when the product is
    more concentrated.
  • Length of treatment is important
    to receive optimal results.  A
suggested length of time in the
    wrap is 20 minutes.
  • Frequency: a series of 3 - 6
    applications will provide more
    benefit than one.

Body wraps can be administered in
many different ways (mud, gel, cream,
oil, etc.) and reap various benefits.  In
general body wrap therapies:
This journey begins with a dry exfoliation to prepare your skin for the mud and allow easy absorption of
vitamins and minerals.  The sensation of being covered in thick warm mud is a unique experience.  The mud
is massaged onto your skin and you are wrapped in a thin plastic sheet and thermal blanket, creating a warm
cocoon.  The warmth is from your body heat.  Not too hot, not too cold, just right.  This allows for extremely
deep relaxation while enjoying a 20 minute head, neck, and marma point massage.  Your skin is cleansed
with hot damp towels and an ultra-hydrating body butter is applied to your skin.  Choose the 90 minute
treatment to finish with a 45 minute full body massage.

Leave feeling ultimately pampered.

Why Mud?
Mud holds heat well and can be
warmed and used to decrease
muscle tension and relax the body.
Sulfur may be the most important
component in therapeutic mud.  Sulfur
reduces oxidative stress on the body,
decreasing inflammation in muscles
and joints, and easing inflammatory
conditions such as osteoarthritis and
rheumatoid arthritis.  Individuals
report experiencing increased
strength, decreased morning
stiffness, better walking ability, and
decreased pain after sulfur mud
treatment.
Mud is mainly mineral in origin and
contains 2-4% organic substances.
Mud is highly absorbent and is used
to draw impurities and moisture from
the surface of the skin.  This
drawing action stimulates circulation
and lymphatic flow and purifies the
skin.
Therapeutic mud is used
successfully for bursitis, sprains,
strains, tendonitis, and other
musculoskeletal injuries and
disorders.
