Massage Modalities
Swedish Massage - Stressed out and want to relax? Feel great and want to keep it that
way? This is the massage for you. Also known as the Western or classic style of massage. Light
to moderate long and flowing strokes increase blood and lymph circulation while inducing a state
of deep relaxation. Great for overall health maintenance and well-being.
Sports Massage - Not just for athletes! Consists mostly of assisted stretching and muscle
compressions. The three main goals of sports massage are to prevent injury, speed recovery,
and enhance or improve performance. May be performed fully clothed in comfortable loose
fitting clothing.
Deep Tissue - This method uses broad based strokes, compressions, and frictioning to
work deep into your muscles while staying withing your "good pain" zone. This technique is great
for those dealing with chronic pain, inflammation and injury or who just prefer a deep massage.
Trigger Point - Slept wrong last night and now you're left with a crick in your _____? Pain
from carpal tunnel, sciatica, or an old rotator cuff injury? Trigger points are usually to blame.
Your probably call them "knots". Only 15 min of trigger point work is recommended per session
as it stays in the high end of the "good pain" zone.
Hot Stone - Stones are placed on the body to rebalance energy while other stones are used
as an extension of the therapists hands. Heat from the stones allows deeper pain-free muscle
work. The energies of the stones create a positive energy flow promoting feelings of harmony,
peace, and balance. Hot stones may be added to other types of massage to allow deeper, pain
free work.
